Een deel van deze site bestaat voornamelijk omdat ik jullie graag op de hoogte hou van wat er in ons leven gebeurt. Wat het nu betekent om een assistentiehond te hebben, zowel in positieve als negatieve zin. Mijn eerste doel was om te gaan bloggen, maar ik heb al snel moeten toegeven dat ik dat fysiek niet kon volhouden. Wat ik wel echter heel goed kan is foto’s met korte verhaaltjes plaatsen! WE DID A THING!
Or better yet, een vriend op poten listened to thing-idea and made it!
Evi has been wearing Faye’s old harness, but it started to break down (after 4 years of HEAVY use mind you) so it was finally time to give her her own.
And what else could it be but Pink & Purple?! She’ll be wearing the yellow vest at work, and just the harness when it’s ‘semi-free-time’.

FIND THE DOT
Part of living here as a dog is being tried and tested. Or better yet… to try and test 🤓
Today we tried cherries (without the pit… dûh). And hoomans intrusive thoughts won 😇
Evi and Faye are too dark to ‘dot’ - Boaz however? Oh lawd does that landing strip of white look tempting.
So he’s now stuck with a purple/blueish dot on his nose.
No I have no shame

QUESTIONS
I’m normally quite certain of what I want in life and how I want it and what to think of it.
This dog however currently is my biggest what the actual f*ck generator. Today this ‘setting’ on my lap was the biggest
Because of the weather I didn’t want her to walk the past few weeks, last summer I had my van, this summer we’re waiting on the new one. So more traveling ‘by lap’. But where she used to HATE it; she started to see the benefits of this pensioners-ride over the past few weeks. And in the last few days she found out you can jump up, throw yourself backwards (yes throw, not fall, not flop, not lean - no: throw) to get scratches and enjoy the ride.
So now I’m cruising through Doetinchem with this dog on my lap sitting like a monkey having the time of her close-to-pensioners-ride…

I summon thee. And seeing as a piece of wood from the small shed is smack bang in the middle - a new shed is being eh.. ‘raised’.

GONNA WORK AL SUMMER
Gonna be like no other🔥
Yeah… with every single other dog I’ve know I’d stop working them above 30 and some even above 26 degrees; definitely no trotting along the power chair after 25 degrees. And then we met Evi. Evi likes to scorch in the sun, Evi likes to bake in the heat. Evi was born in it, molded by it and laughs in the face of summer and temperatures above 35 degrees. She calls out Mother Nature and tells ‘is this all you’ve got?!’
She’d be arranging the heat wave all by herself if she could.
And no I am not joking. The temper tantrum she threw when she found out trotting was NOT an option and she only got to walk a set amount of grass before she had to mount the throne was insufferable. But yet here we are.
She jumps around the garden like it’s 21 degrees all day long even when it’s way beyond 30, doesn’t stop, harasses Faye, harasses me, and overall darts around like a newborn lamb in the fields. And after 7 years I’ve learned lava doesn’t melt: it’s already formed by the heat.
So when you’re invited to an end of summer activity with drinks and fun..? You slap on the cooling vest, force the dog on her throne and you just go.
Will I ever have another dog that is so unbothered by heat? Probably never will.
So do I use it to my advantage? Hell yes 😎

But wether it’s 25 or 35 degrees one thing’s for sure: Evi is outside having fun, playing lying in the sun and overall attempting to turn in to a charcoal brick…

When your front legs splice up like the sea did for Moses you ungracefully slide into the tank while your arse follows.
However we don’t care! An IBC tank can withstand Faye’s shenanigans, just empty it out every so often and we’re all fully set to go all summer. Bite and dig proof ✅
