Een deel van deze site bestaat voornamelijk omdat ik jullie graag op de hoogte hou van wat er in ons leven gebeurt. Wat het nu betekent om een assistentiehond te hebben, zowel in positieve als negatieve zin. Mijn eerste doel was om te gaan bloggen, maar ik heb al snel moeten toegeven dat ik dat fysiek niet kon volhouden. Wat ik wel echter heel goed kan is foto’s met korte verhaaltjes plaatsen! Hooman spotted a badger trail (before we stomped all over it). And seeing as it was snowing it was pretty fresh. We didn’t spot Mr. Badger himself but had a nice walk in the forest slowly turning back into winter wonderland.

EAT THE MOO, WEAR THE MOO
It’s the circle of life. And since Evi now too needs (those g*dd*mn f*ck*ng) sweaters I decided to fall over in all glory and go for the ‘twinning ís winning’.
We’ll be seeing Faye this Monday, so they can both wear the same outfit like a “ANWB couple”..
And yes she sadly still needs it. I gave her a full groom this week and even though she’s full on shedding there are parts of her that just seem to have 25% undercoat and 50% topcoat. Snow instantly starts to melt when it lands on her, which also gives away how bad her coat is actually insulating her. As long as this is the only sign I’ll live with it; if she’s displaying more symptoms of underlying disease of course we’ll go and see the vet and at least get some bloodwork done.
And so today the package with her sweaters arrived. I didn’t call her, didn’t ask her to join in - I was purely unpacking and wanted to make a photo of them to send. She couldn’t even see me grab the sweater, she must have smelled it…
The moment it came out of the package she came over ‘asking’ for it. And now? She’s happily sleeping stretched out in stead of curled up.
I have to admit it’s funny seeing them walking around like cows 🤣
So now I have two moo…
Or when the 🐮 needs washing I’ll have two 🐉
And now time to pack. It’s januari-family-vacation time. Let’s see how long it will take this year for the mystery nose-disease to pop up 🤓

FWIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE BANG
Okay the video is low quality but it does show what Evi does when the fireworks come out. It’s a short timelapse but you can see she repositioned to stare out the window and view the different fireworks. She did this for several hours, since we had some neighbours that were shooting of display fireworks from 19:00 until we went to bed.
And we slept through 00:00 like little princesses 🤣

But I’ll be sleeping tight by the time it all goes down 🫣 Evi has the living room for herself to look at all the wonders - she’s been staring out the window all afternoon long, for some reason she likes the sparkles in he sky
Faye will be enjoying the beauty of 00:00 with my brother in the place she loves most when it all goes down: outside in the garden with a beautiful view on everything around her.

OH I DIDN’T SEE SHE’S A SERVICE DOG
Yep, I can see why, it’s so fucking non-visible all that yellow and all those labels. Maybe I should add a siren and some lights for those visually impaired people.
And yes honestly, this is her gear, and there’s still people going ‘oh I didn’t notice, I just saw her and wanted to pet her!’
Not even beginning with the fact that you should NEVER touch a dog you don’t know without asking.

Yeah.. no. So we had a long day today and when we were packing up to leave a drumbass band started warming up nearby (say 30 feet away). I might look like I was as shouting but I literally couldn’t hear myself 😂
But yeah Evi couldn’t give a rats ass, as per usual.

Okay that would’ve been funny, in reality all she saw was a play mate. And against expectations miss piggy thought all was well and good. They had a sniff and a hop on both sides of the fence, did NOT expect that from either 😂

POOR POOR FAYE
Having to do a long long (until the 5th) sleepover at her ‘uncle’. And as you can see she’s unhappy, has nothing to play with, no warm ánd cosy sleeping mats (all over the house) and even worse, no 1 on 1 attention all day
Being there is Faye-heaven when it comes to being able to unwind, desensitise and relax. Little to no visitors, having 1 on 1 attention, time to play, time to relax and a set daily rythm. Compared to the utter chaos that reigns in this household in december.

SPORT THE RESULTS
And I have to admit, I love how the show line from belly to hind leg matches this time. Each shave I learn ánd get better - which is fun.
Her neck looks a bit funky, but in stead of at the collar I shaved down on where her sweaters & PJ’s end. So naked it looks a bit weird, but she’ll be wearing clothes 24/7 and it’s prettier and warmer this way.

NJEEEEENG - SHORTCUT!
So yeah… winter, colder… blah blah so I shaved her, but with a 2,5cm shaving head on. Because again I was afraid of going too short.
All it did was make Faye itch al over, very dusty, annoyed, dirty and an unhappy camper. So again I had to think to myself ‘ís this really it?’
She was wearing sweaters anyhow, why the hell pinch, be conservative and afraid of going back to the 2,5mm setting like summer? Ooooh she might get cold 🤨
I know her more than well enough to know if she needs thicker p-jays and if she’s cold or hot. So she’s shaven down once again and way happier for it, once again 🤣
This picture was halfway done, I had a tough time getting through the underwool and there were welts, sore spots and bumps mostly on her legs, butt and neck. Some annoying welts that were going smelly already, yay for yeasts. So note to self for next time: SHAVE THE GODDAMN DOG.
